PARTY WORKING STRUCTURE

Much of the structure of the AMI_CI Party is based on that pioneered by the Greens and OWS with a non-hierarchical form and with inspiration leading the way. Restraints only apply as member actions may divert from party ethos, such as "power-over" consciousness. A reference here is Senselabs, Montreal, Canada and of course, Starhawk. The AMI_CI party also stands for a broadening of what Democracy can be as in the message of David Graeber. We believe in engaging the existing dominant political parties, pressing for all forms of direct democracy and hope some day to win seats in local governments and beyond in new ways. Regular meetings locally may be held in unconventional places. 

 

As in OWS structures, members are horizontals, with decision making occuring in breakout groups with a concensus or 2/3 vote. A no vote is distinguished from a block of action. 

 

As in Green and OWS movements, In public meetings one finger raised indicates a statement of information, finger twinkling indicates a request to speak. Statements should be brief so as to allow others to speak.
