CORE VALUES

 

1. To direct energies and resources to creative actions in all forms.

2. To release creative persons from all coercion as well as restraints, be they of political, economic or social origins. 

3. To direct energies from destructive technologies to creative technologies.

4. To pursue truth, beauty and knowledge regardless of market return and simply because these are the highest aspects of humanity. 

5. To place service/activism as a basic and integral part of the party- performing and providing direct service via creative activities to the community and the world with the party banner. This would always be done within existing laws, with the permission and benefit of any person or institution those actions may impact and within the party ethos of non-violence, service and in the words of Senselabs, "affirmative creative exploration". Anyone acting outside those boundaries would not be an AMI_CI representative.

 

 

 

PLATFORM STATEMENTS ALPHABETICALLY

 

DEFENSE - The AMI_CI Party believes in honoring, preserving and encouraging non-violent culture in a global perspective. Culture here means aesthetic identity and may apply to as little as one person. A global perspective by no means implies a homogenization of earthly culture and identity. Rather, Identity and cultural expression should be foremost in day-to-day existence in the same way that we have and enjoy holidays from different cultures and restaurants of different ethnic groups, i.e. a normalization of plurality. Territorial concepts associated with clan identity should be a constant arena for artistic, theatrical, academic and philosophical exploration amongst traditionally warring groups rather than a political issue inforced by violence. Indeed, it has always been cultural exchange that serves first and foremost as a diplomatic tool for divergent groups to find pleasure, common ground and unity. Rather than weapons of mass destruction, we call for weapons of mass creation (WMC's), precision guided missives, treaties with numerous bullets etc.

 

This cultural approach should further be placed in the consciousnesses of opposing groups by what we see as the inevitable, though long term, migration of human life into space. We feel it is a given that an awareness of the vastness of space makes earthly territorial thinking obsolete and that both groups in divisive ethnic wars will soon be looking toward the skies at their collective progeny. In this way, the party has an encouragement of, and emphasis on, migration to space and believes in directing the defense enterprise into space travel.  

 

By-products of defense, in particular the weapons industry, are seen from this viewpoint as regressive, archaic remnants of a primitive past.  The AMI_CI Party holds that all destructive technologies should be melted and buried deep within the earth and constructive exploratory technologies lavished and brought out.

 

DRUG LAW - The AMI_CI Party holds that abuse of drugs, harmful to the body, including alcohol abuse is a healthcare rather than a criminal issue. It also sees drug abuse as a problem arising from the need to escape from imposed and skewed societal values that dishonor the self. Drug abuse use should be immediately decriminalized and its root causes in perverse societal values exposed.  Conversely, entheogenic plant use should be thoughtfully protected as sacred and integral to both personal and societal spiritual growth. Its use should be associated with all the safety guidelines necessary given the volatility of the human spirit including trained guides, doctors, maturity evaluation. Entheogenic plant use should be decriminalized and readily accessible for the adequately mature. 

 

ECONOMY - The AMI-CI party advocates a long term transition away from capitalism. This aspect of the platform needs considerable development, but an initial framework points to an economy composed of two concurrent streams:

1) Fashion 

2) Sacred Exchange/ Gift giving.

 

1. Fashion (in all its forms: clothes, hair, music, art) keeps things in a dynamic state where value is constantly fluctuating, developing excitement and flow. External restraints may need to be imposed in terms of maximum value of any given service at which point all value is dispersed. These restraints should ensure that all could afford the fashion of the moment.

 

2. Sacred Exchange, as a concurrent economic stream to fashion, sacred exchange would be long term, and involve sacred exchanges of essential and meaningful goods and services. (see: Charles Eisenstein)

 

Further study of the successes and failures of the Argentinian Red del Trueque/Barter Network of Mar y Sierras, may serve as an additional model

 

EDUCATION:  The AMI_CI party supports the multi-mentor/multi-modal approach to learning.  This means that there would be an exponential growth in government support for teacher/mentors allowing students to chose and continually move from one mentor to another. Classes would be no larger than 3 students. Mentors would supplement on-line classes.  All learning would be project based.  Testing would be in the form required to understand the best method for teaching the student.  The goal of education would be to provide the most individually tailored method of learning possible. Subjects should be taught to young people without coercion. Instead, project-based/constructive training would be the focus of activity. Principles of non-violent communication would be taught at all stages of growth.  Options from an early age would be available to those who would prefer softer physical activity (Tai Chi) to harder activity (Football). 

 

FOREIGN POLICY: Means of dealing with The Islamic State. IS provides an absolutely perfect opportunity for the use of holograms. AMI_CI party members might create a hologram projecting a sparkling flame positioned over a horse levitating upward or produce massive calligraphic displays of the Koran holographically displayed on panels in the air coming up from the ground or lasers in huge geometric patterns. These could be turned on in the battlefield- and later fully revealed as art and provided in industrial quantities as toys for children. Actions would be focused on gift gestures that might turn violence to wonder and respect for art, or to bring fresh meaning to art and divert destructive impulses. Listening will be important should they have some hologram ideas for us. Conversely there might be some place for the construction of holodeck type stages or virtual reality goggles so that they could live out their 7th century fantasy without hurting anyone. They could fully explore every detail of their vision and fight out as many holographic battles as they desire with the technical assistance of the AMI_CI party. Art can and must outsmart.

 

GLOBAL WARMING - The AMI_CI Party sees global warming as a natural response to the industrial era, where external activity has generated a lot of heat. The AMI_CI P party sees global warming as an opportunity to create greater unity among peoples of the earth, make the earth more sacred and catapult exploration and colonization of space.  These features will issue in a new era of energies being concentrated more in the space of the mind and result in the earth's cooling.  The AMI_CI Party would support those efforts and activities that make the earth sacred, enhance internal speculation and advance the technologies of space travel. 

 

GUN CONTROL.  The AMI_CI party fully supports the construction of exquisite museums to house guns through the ages in glass cases.

 

HOUSING: the AMI_CI Party has a primary focus of providing immediate ubiquitous short-term housing for traveling musicians. Funds for longer term housing would be supplied for the immediate construction of studios and housing for artists of all kinds (painters, sculptors, multi-media, installation etc. as well as inventors) appropriate to their needs for space and safety.  Writers would also be provided both short and long term housing. There exists great opportunity to innovate in architecture with both materials and design. Although safety will always be a first and foremost concern, regulation that serves only to inhibit and stiffle innovation should be questioned. (i.e. the message of Michael Reynolds/Garbage Warrior).  

 

INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY:  The AMI_CI Party takes the Solomonic approach to IP law. Let us use metaphor here: A sharp and terrible blade hangs over an innocent babe, intellectual property.  Solomon says he will divide the child in half. One mother is greedy capitalism, the other mother is the public good. Solomon is wise government. Issues of intellectual property rights should be reduced to what will do most human good. Holding back or keeping intellectual property, valuable to the populace, away from use due to issues of greed would be halted by wise judicial action. In disputes over intellectual property speedy analysis and arbitration would ensue.  The highest good would prevail.

 

INVENTION: The AMI_CI Party calls for the immediate creation of a Department of Invention similar in size to the Environmental Protection agency (EPA). The department would provide a direct conduit for inventors to state their ideas and have them developed with the assistance of the state and with returns given to the inventor, those involved in design and manufacturing and the state in general. This means a hyper development of new ideas and easier access for outsiders to get in the game. 

 

MEDICAL RESEARCH:  The AMI_CI Party believes, as artists throughout the ages have believed, in the erotic, and the joy of life. For this reason, the AM_CI party would increase research expenditures that would promote the eradication of sexually transmitted disease.  Mental illness has also accompanied the artist throughout the ages and would receive larger support in areas of deblitating illness. These are not strict targets for support however as the AMI_CI party believes in well being for all people, providing every one with the opportunity for health, strength, intimacy, pleasure and of course creativity. Current systems based on exploiting chronic illness and generating chronic profits for the pharmaceutical industry would be rendered obsolete by power-with underlying societal structures and values. That is, the pharmaceutical industry would be regulated so that its focus would be on prevention and cure rather than late stage survival and maintenance. Effective, safe, alternative medicine and medical research would work in a complimentary way with alopathic medicine.  

 

MONUMENT CONSTRUCTION:  The AMI_CI party calls for the immediate construction, enshrinement and honor of all emotions in ubiquitous monuments and enclosed spaces filled with sculptures and art. Critical effort should go in to the design and architecture of such possible monuments as Towers of Rage, Wells of Sadness and Springs of Ecstasy.

 

NARCISSISM: The AMI_CI party would, once politically positioned to so act, establish a national holiday to recognize narcissism in all its forms: both catastrophic and healthy. That is, by naming and focusing on narcissism as a human ill and human trait, it is hoped that it's destructive aspects and presentations will evaporate and its positive aspects will prevail. The AMI_CI party thus wants to support good self-esteem while obliterating clueless, behavior patterns in which only the personal pronoun "me" exists. 

 

PHILOSOPHY:  Philosophy should be supported for both publication and public talks.

 

POVERTY/ECONOMIC DISPARITY:  The AMI_CI Party encourages collective sharing of food as a basis for relieving poverty, and stimulating dialogue between current economic strata. The AMI_CI Party believes that the looming external pressure of global warming will force interdependence and organically make economic disparity obsolete. The AMI_CI Party will encourage community through the arts and as a tool to reduce pressures during this time of transition. 

 

SECRECY: The AMI_CI party calls for a gradual dismantling of the structures of govenment secrecy, except where they might protect the people from weapons and devices that could do direct harm to the populace. A department would be set up to address public reports of the paranormal. 

 

SOCIAL ALIENATION: Social alienation and isolation should be identified as public enemy number one and treated as such. This applies to isolated elders, teens - anyone.

 

TAXES: The AMI_CI party would work toward the long term goal of a gift and service based society. Collective contributions for such things as flood abatement would need to be organically worked out with the integration of computer databases. 

 

THEATER:  Live theatre would be ubiquitous. Every town and hamlet should have its own theater where issues of the day can be addressed. Staging of timeworn classics should be balanced with the production of new works. 

 

TRANSPORTATION - The AMI_CI party supports public transportation and innovative technologies for transport. It also encourages and seeks to develop traditional performances spaces at such places as bus stops, train stops etc.
